Even though Pontet is only a Fifth Growth, ever since Alfred Tesseron took over in 1994, the vineyard are producing wines at the level of the best Second Growths and in some vintages, as good as the First. Situated next to giant Mounton Rothschild, Tesseron has inspired other around him to work more organically as well as biodynamic.
